Astros: August Promotional Schedule has us reminiscing

We are turning into the Dog Days of Summer, as their are about two months left of baseball this season. The Houston Astros are contenders, as they return home for their first August homestand on Thursday.

The promotional schedule has been filled with a wide range of bobbleheads this season, but we are starting to see more jersey giveaways as we approached August. This is where the promotional staff decided to go back in time for fans.

While the season is nearing an end, the Astros’ promotional staff has a nostalgic promotional schedule for fans in August.

Hall of Fame Weekend vs. Minnesota Twins: August 5-8

To open the first homestand against Minnesota, Houston celebrates new inductees to the Astros Hall of Fame from August 6-8. Before the speeches and orange jackets are given out, the first 10,000 fans will receive a Jose Altuve Shooting Star Replica Jersey on Thursday, August 5.

On Friday, the first 10,000 fans will receive a Lance Berkman 00’s Alternate Replica Jersey, which is the black with gold and brick red font. The organization hasn’t looked back to this era of uniforms since they did away with it, after 2012. There will also be a Pregame Happy Hour and Friday Night Fireworks.

Come Saturday, fans will have their first chance to take home an Astros Hall of Fame Triple Bobblehead with Lance Berkman, Cesar Cedeno and Roy Hofheinz. Another 10,000 fans will also have an opportunity on Sunday with an Astros Hall of Fame Triple Bobblehead consisting of Roy Oswalt, Billy Wagner and Bob Watson, as kids will also be allowed to run the bases postgame.

vs. Colorado Rockies: August 10-11

With only two Dollar Dog Nights in August, the Rockies’ series comes with one of them, while the other is on August 24 against the Kansas City Royals. The first 10,000 fans will receive an Astros Tote Bag, as the next 10,000 fans will receive Topps Card Giveaway on August 11.

vs. Seattle Mariners: August 20-22

While the competition isn’t stellar in August, the Mariners’ series is jammed pack. On Friday, the first 10,000 fans will enjoy a Kyle Tucker Batting Bobblehead, as well as, Pregame Happy Hour and Friday Night Fireworks.

On Faith and Family Night Saturday, the first 10,000 will take home a Zack Greinke Bobblehead, and then an Alex Bregman Replica White Jersey on Dog Day Sunday. Kids will also be allowed to run the bases again postgame.
