Time and time again, public relations of professional sports team have free range to joke around with an opposing team entering the stadium they work in. For the Houston Astros, they developed a stacked July promotional schedule that mainly focuses on two series.
The New York Yankees come into town from July 9-11, where every game has a give away for the first 10,000 fans. This does feel like a fun way to rub in the 2019 ALCS victory, no matter the circumstances surrounding it.
The July promotional schedule doesn’t have too many new options, but what should you keep your eye on?
July 9 vs. the Yankees: 2019 AL Champions Trophy
The Astros missed out on their celebrations of the 2019 season in 2020, as the franchise reached its third World Series in team history. The replica trophy is the one that Jose Altuve is holding the image above.
July 10 vs. the Yankees: 2019 AL Champions Ring
While the 2017 World Series rings feel like a more meaningful promotion to take home, it is still a respectable achievement.

Everyone knows the swing, the game-winning home run, the Yankee killer that came off the bat of Altuve in game six of the 2019 ALCS. Well, he was wearing that white jersey that fans will be able to take home.
July 23 vs. the Rangers: Lone Star Series T-shirt
The first 10,000 fans will go home with a navy blue shirt that portrays an orange outline of Texas. In the outline, a custom Texas license plate stands showing “HOU*TEX” on it. The asterisk would be a small Texas logo.
July 24 & 25 vs. the Rangers: Alex Bregman & Yordan Alvarez ‘Back2Back’ Bobblehead
These two days will give you a chance to complete the tandem bobble head that has been a reoccurring promotion. Bregman will be available on the 24th and Alvarez on the 25th to the first 10,000 fans.
If you’re looking for the food deals, Dollar Dog Night will be on the Tuesdays of July 6 and 20 against the A’s and Indians. For drinks and festivities, July 9 against the Yankees and July 23 against the Rangers will have Pregame Happy Hour, while July 24 against the Rangers will include a Summer Street Fest.
For the children, Friday Night Fireworks are on July 9 against the Yankees and July 23 against the Rangers, as July 7 against the Yankees and July 25 against the Rangers on Kids Day are bring back Kids Run the Bases. And for the Star Wars fans, it might not be May 4th, but the Astros have a Star Wars Night add-on for July 23.
