Houston Astros Name A.J. Hinch Manager
Not even 24 hours after the conclusion of the 2014 Major League Baseball regular season–and the total completion of the Houston Astros season–the team has named a new Manager.
And it is…………………
A.J. Hinch indeed.
Those fast moving folks over at Wikipedia are already on top of things.
Hinch managed the Arizona Diamondbacks for the 2009 and 2010 seasons, putting together a lowsome 89-123 record. After a rough inaugural 2009 campaign, he was fired on July 1, 2010 after starting year number two 31-48.
Named Manager of the D-Backs days before his 35th birthday, he became the second youngest Manager ever (Eric Wedge was 82 days younger when named Skipper of the Cleveland Indians in 2003).

Hinch broke through in 2005 when Arizona named him Manager of their Minor League Operations.
In July 2006, Baseball America named him one of MLB’s “Ten to Watch” in the next ten years as an orginzational piece whether it be in the front office or row one of the dugout.
Well, it’s row one and it’ll be nine years come Spring Training 2015.
