Welcome to the weekend and the newest edition of Astros Links. With Spring Training now in full swing there is plenty to talk about — and plenty of good Astros related content bouncing around the blogosphere.
Arroyo is older, and by FIP has not been as good as Feldman over the last 3 years. Scott Kazmir parlayed his comeback into a 2 year 22 million dollar contract. However, for as good as a story as Kazmir was, he still wound up with a higher ERA than Feldman, and of course pitched his way out of baseball in 2011.
No, I don’t think this changes it. If anything it causes me not to rush, which I’ve been trying not to do the whole time.
We’re so stacked, it’s unbelievable. I’ve never seen anything like this. Nobody has a minor league organization like this. We’re so packed with pitching, it’s like ants on top of each other. We’re just so full. Jeff has done a tremendous job.
Knowing how fast things are growing in The Woodlands area, there’s probably a three-to-four year window at which we would be looking at all of this to take place. If the deal does happen, there will be minor league baseball in Montgomery County by opening day of 2017 or 2018 at the latest.
