In celebration of his selection to the Texas League All-Star Game, Astros prospect Matt Duffy hit three homeruns in Monday night’s game. Batting eighth and playing third-base, Duffy led the AAA Oklahoma City RedHawks to a 6-2 win over the Salt Lake Bees on a rainy night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Duffy now has four homeruns in 11 games since his recent promotion to the AAA level. The 25-year old Duffy was hitting .302/340/.455 for Corpus Christi at the time of his promotion. In addition to his All-Star selection, Duffy was also named the Texas League Offensive Player of the Month for the month of May.

Astros top ten prospect Domingo Santana added his tenth homer of the season for the RedHawks. Starting pitcher Nick Tropeano scattered four hits over seven innings to even his record at 4-4 for the year. Tropeano allowed two runs while striking out seven and walking only one. Ross Seaton and Kevin Chapman closed things out with one scoreless inning apiece.

The RedHawks third straight win keeps them on top of the standings in the PCL’s American Northern Division. Three more games against the last place Bees gives the RedHawks a golden opportunity to extend their lead in the division.
