Spring training is here, as the Astros announce their updated schedule.

After 99 days of the Major League Baseball lockout, it’s now back to business for baseball in America. The Houston Astros embark upon an abbreviated spring training schedule of 15 games in less than a months time.

The Astros will hang around the Treasure Coast of Florida all spring, opening the games March 18 against the St. Louis Cardinals, their old National League Central rival. Nine out of the 15 games will be at home as they play the Washington Nationals four times in their shared ball park at palm beach.

The chances you will catch a game or two are quite easy, if you are in the West Palm Beach area of Florida starting March 20 for the home opener versus the Nationals at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches.

Single game tickets are not yet on sale but games will be coming fast, so stay tuned to the website for the ballpark as some Cactus League teams have announced tickets will go on sale Monday.

Fans are welcome to come to the ballpark and watch workouts beginning March 13 at 10 a.m. The team store will open at 9 a.m. so just in time to grab some gear and head over to watch the boys of summer back in action.

The new Astros spring training hat is pretty slick, and I’m sure they will sell out quick now that baseball is back. The club will have a pretty jam packed schedule so if you want to catch any practices or workouts then you want to get there quick.

The Astros have several prospects that will be fun to watch develop and compete this spring so check back often on Climbing Tal’s hill to get the latest on prospects and progress of veteran players all spring!
