Which Houston Astros players had the biggest positive and negative impacts in fantasy baseball in Week Ten?

After an amazingly successful week in Week Nine, Week Ten was not as kind to the Astros. The team’s offensive numbers came back down to earth, while the pitching took a beating. This had a clear effect on fantasy baseball owners relying on those Astros players. Here are the best and worst of Week Ten.

Best Hitter: Brian McCann

McCann rebounded from a rough week to post excellent numbers this time out. In five games, he belted three homers, drove in six runs and scored eight times. He hit safely in all his games this week, including a four-hit performance on Wednesday.

Best Pitcher: Mike Fiers

Who would’ve expected this? Fiers hasn’t exactly had a great season, but he was excellent this week. He made two starts, earning the win in both. He gave up two runs in five innings on Monday and then tossed a gem on Saturday, giving up just one unearned run in 7.1 innings.

Fiers will not likely ever be a top-flight fantasy player, but he’s on a nice run and could drum up some value. If you’re in need of pitching help, he could be worth a flier in a pinch.

Worst Hitter: Carlos Correa

It seems as if Correa hit a rut as soon as this week started. He managed only three hits total in six games with just one RBI. The slump prompted A.J. Hinch to give him a day off on Sunday with hopes he’ll be rejuvenated after some rest.

Worst Pitcher: Brad Peacock

Peacock earned the best pitcher nod last week, but this one didn’t go so well. He gave up four runs on seven hits with four walks in just three innings. He’d begun to be noticed in fantasy leagues, but he’ll need to put this start behind him to keep it that way.
