There are many impressive prospects in the Astros in or league system, so it is understandable that we miss a prospects achievements here and there. I received a Tweet about a week ago from a Lancaster Jethawk fan who get’s to know most of the prospects who come and go. This fan asked me, “where is the love for Keegan Yuhl, he is dominating right now?” Honestly, I haven’t seen much about Yuhl because he is not on the top-30 prospect list.

He is not a top prospect, but he is performing like one after being drafted by the Astros in the 35th round of the 2014 MLB Draft. He played his college ball at Concordia University in California. In fact, he was the first Concordia pitcher to do something special on the mound. I’ll let him tell you about that later on.

Why should we care about Yuhl? Let’s look at his stats at Quad Cities and Lancaster.

In 31 games, he has zero losses between two levels. Some people say that the California League and Lancaster tend to favor the hitters, tell that to Yuhl, who is dominating there. Plus, there is a connection between Yuhl and a current Astros top prospect. Who, you have to read to find out.
