It’s official! The Astros have a bullpen. It is being reported that Luke Gregerson and Pat Neshek have signed with the Houston Astros. OUR Houston Astros.
"Reliever Pat Neshek, pursued by #Pirates, signs with #Astros for two years, $12.5 million, pending physical. Gets to stay in FLA for spring. — Derrick Goold (@dgoold) December 10, 2014"
These moves solidify the Astros bullpen, and also don’t break the bank. With Gregerson making $6M next season, and Neshek signing for 2 years/$12.5M, that still leaves a little nugget of cash to spend in other areas. What’s most important is that the Astros league-worst bullpen is improved, and the goal of reaching .500 next season is perfectly feasible. For more on why both of these moves make sense, I actually just wrote about each of these players this morning.
First, Luke Gregerson.
