It’s Monday, which means LINK DUMP DAY! There has been a lot of content on the site this past week, but here are some of our favorites.
The Astros need some relief help, so why not a three-time World Series Champion?
The White Sox were also reportedly interested in adding a catcher this offseason. While the Astros have a surplus, we detailed why Jason Castro wouldn’t be the one on the move.
Our newest writer, Ryan, also detailed why the Astros don’t need to add a starting pitcher in his first piece.
Of course, there was more news, but these are just a few pieces that may pique your interest.
Jason looked at George Springer’s 2014 numbers, and compared them to Giancarlo Stanton’s. Stanton is about to sign a deal worth over $300M. While they’re roughly the same age, the Springer/Stanton comparison will be fun to watch for years to come.
Preston also asked what the Astros should do with their prospects and their development.
Scott Boras said that he doesn’t like teams tanking, and seemed to describe the Astros. Well, some teams don’t like having to deal with Scott Boras, but that’s beside the point.
Lastly, Kennon wrote a piece about a bracelet. A magical bracelet that gives Astros minor leaguers powers. Not exactly, but close. Just read it to see what I mean.
That’s it for this week’s link dump. As always, if Astros news breaks, we fix it. Wait, that’s been said, and is a little cheesy.
