Brett Oberholtzer Back to AAA; Paul Clemens Called Up

facebooktwitterreddit

After a surprisingly successful 2013 campaign from Brett Oberholtzer, we expected to see some growing pains this season.

This is Oberholtzer’s second trip to Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, the first coming after his May 6 loss to Detroit.

While his first demotion was understandable (he posted a 5.62 ERA in his first six starts), I’m not sure I understand this one. Since being called up after his first demotion, he has had two quality starts and recorded his first two wins of the season.

While I would much rather see someone like Brad Peacock spend a couple of weeks in Triple-A to see what Paul Clemens can do, I am okay knowing that Oberholtzer can be counted on to go down to Oklahoma City and get work done. His attitude and work ethic are what make him a valuable asset to the team.

As for Paul Clemens; welcome back to The Show.
