Astros Weekend Links
Our second chance of the year to see the Astros on TV turned into a long but entertaining night. Unfortunately, the Astros still haven’t been able to figure out Yu Darvish and ended up on the wrong end of a 1-0 twelve inning affair. Here are a few stories you may have missed while staying up late to watch the game.
"The Blue Jays’ telecast of the Blue Jays’ 7-3 win over the Astros displayed a shot of Zeid just before he left the bullpen at Rogers Centre as he was leaning over and applying what appeared to be a spray to his forearms."
"On a talented roster that includes two former first overall Draft picks in Correa and pitcher Mark Appel, Velasquez and his teammates have raced out to a 7-2 record and sole possession of first place in the California League South Division standings."
"Oklahoma City position players are approximately 1 year, 2 months older than Corpus Christi position players who are approximately 1 year, 4 months older than Lancaster position players who are about three months YOUNGER than Quad Cities position players."
"There were four different rounds of bidding for Abreu, and the Astros were in the hunt until the end. Luhnow said it was a well-managed process, with each team getting an opportunity to stretch themselves as far as they felt comfortable financially."
