Recapping The Minors: September 3rd

Would you look at that?!? With the ValleyCats win last night, the Astros have their top six affiliates all headed to the postseason. As I tweeted last night (yes, that was a shameless plug to tell ya’ll to follow me @YoniPollak), the full season affiliates didn’t just barely make the playoffs, they dominated the whole season. They combined for a 328-234 record and a winning percentage of .583%. Flat out domination for five months of the season. Three of the four (not the JetHawks) will be starting their long playoff run tonight. Last night, the Greeneville Astros made an incredible comeback with Brett Phillips hitting a game-tying double on a two-out two-strike count. After the Phillips hit the Astros scored another four runs to win the game 7-3 and win the series 2-1. Here are the notable stat lines from last night’s games.
