Jarred Cosart Will Be Starting Friday
Not all the news was bad on Wednesday for Astros fans.

After the game, it was announced that Jimmy Paredes will be heading back to AAA and Jarred Cosart is being promoted to make his major league debut on Friday in Tampa Bay.
This is big news for Astros fans. Cosart is the first of the legitimate big name prospects to reach the major leagues. And he certainly will not be the last.
The Astros’ starters for Saturday and Sunday have not yet been announced, but after the All-Star break, at a minimum, Bo Porter needs to at least temporarily fill Lucas Harrell‘s rotation spot.
Friday is as good a time as any to see the hard throwing right hander take the mound for the first time as a major leaguer. Cosart was always a hard thrower, but this season saw him really take a step forward. He became a more complete pitcher as his other pitches developed and he became more than just a thrower.
So far this season, Cosart has pitched 93 innings while striking out 93 batters to go with a 3.19 ERA.
Cosart might not come up taking the league by storm, and there could be some rough patches, but overall I think he is ready for the major leagues.
