The Astros have hired 27-year old David Stearns as their Assistant General Manager. Stearns was the Director of Baseball Operations for the Cleveland Indians last season. Prior to that he spent three years working in the commissioners office.
Stearns comes highly recommended according to Jeff Luhnow, who told CBSsports.com:
"David was highly recommended by several industry experts. His experience working at Major League Baseball as well as with three different clubs will be an asset for us."
The Astros continue their assault on building the smartest front office in sports. Stearns is a 2007 graduate of Harvard.
