The Astros have finally hired a replacement for Alyson Footer. Her name is Kelly George. Ms. George brings with her quite an impressive resume. She earned a degree in communications from the University of Maryland before moving on to the University of Arkansas, Little Rock to work on her masters degree.
Kelly is also a veteran of the United States Air Force, having advanced to the rank of officer. While in the Air Force, Kelly was crowned Miss Arkansas 2007 and went on to compete in the Miss U.S.A. 2007 pageant. Ms. George was the first active duty servicewoman to ever compete for the title of Miss U.S.A.
Kelly’s public relations experience includes stints with the Air Force as well as Disney. She has also done intern work at The Pentagon and was a daytime news anchor in Arkansas.
Kelly has some tough shoes to fill as Alyson’s replacement. Having already accomplished so much at such a young age, one would think she will be up to the task.
A word of warning Ms. George: Astros fans are fickle and their expectations are high. We here at Climbing Tal’s Hill wish you the best in your new endeavor.
