Astros lefty Dallas Keuchel was unable to cool off a red-hot Diamondbacks offense tonight in Arizona. Jason Kubel hit a two-run homer in the first inning and sent Keuchel to the showers in the fourth inning with a three-run blast. Fernando Rodriguez replaced Keuchel with the Astros trailing 7-1.
The bad news: it looks like the Astros are headed for their eighteenth loss in the last 20 games. The good news: F-Rod was brought into a game in a low-leverage situation.
After battering Bud Norris for nine runs and scoring a total of thirteen last night, the Diamonbacks appear to be on their way to another blowout win over the hapless Astros.
On a positive note, Jimmy Paredes has three hits, including his tenth homer, for Oklahoma City tonight. Paredes is still playing second base after it was rumored that he would be moved to the outfield. I’d have to say Jose Altuve‘s job is safe at 2B, but the Astros could use some outfield help. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like that help will be coming from Jimmy Paredes any time soon. The AAA RedHawks have won five straight but trail 6-2 in the eighth inning tonight at Memphis.
