BREAKING: Jim Crane approved as new owner of the Astros
Bud Selig has confirmed that Jim Crane is the new owner of the Astros. He also announced the Astros would be moving to the AL come 2013 and two more wild card teams would be added as early as this up coming season. This ends a long, and at times, ugly process which has been viewed mostly in a negative light by fans. More details as they become available.
Update – Alyson Footer has confirmed that a press conference, from MMP, will be held to introduce Jim Crane and his group at 3:30pm, this afternoon. It will be streamed live on Astros.com. Whether you agree or disagree with today’s events, this should be one of the more anticipated press conferences in quite a long time. With names such as Andrew Friedman and old friend Gerry Hunsicker, among others, already being rumored for Ed Wade’s GM position, questions are sure to coming rapid fire at Jim.
