T-minus two hours until launch. Game three of the series in San Francisco features a pitching matchup between a struggling veteran and a rookie making his big league debut. Brett Myers takes the mound against the Giants much heralded lefty Eric Surkamp. The Astros need a win tonight or tomorrow to take the season series from the defending champs.
Surkamp has put up some impressive numbers in the minors and is now bringing his talents to the big stage. The 23 year-old has 10-4 record with a 2.02 ERA this season at AA. Since being drafted in 2008, Surkamp boasts a 1.15 WHIP and a 10.7 K/9 IP in 70 minor league appearances. Here’s a look at Brad Mills’ lineup for tonight’s contest.
