Down On The Farm Recap

Today was a good day for Michael Foltynewicz. Our second first round pick in last year’s draft picked up his first professional win in his last outing, and was able to build off of that outing by winning his second in a row. Folty went 7 innings, allowed 5 hits, gave up 1 earned run, walked 2, and struck out 2. More important was his ability to induce the groundball in tonight’s outing by having a 9/2 GO/AO ratio for the game. Hopefully this is a sign that he is starting to put it all together and start flashing some of that top of the rotation potential.

Oklahoma City lost to Fresno 7-5

Douglas Arguello – 6 IP, 4 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 4 BB, 4 SO, HR, 4.79 ERA – He has struggled with his control a lot more this year than he did last year in Corpus.

Wesley Wright – 1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO, 2.60 ERA

Anderson Hernandez 2B – 2-5, .265 AVG

Max Ramirez C – 2-4, RBI, BB, .268 AVG – Watch out J.R. Towles. The ex-Ranger prospect could be ready if you can’t get it together.

Koby Clemens 1B – LF, 2-3, 2B, RBI, BB, .248 AVG – Very surprised to see him have some time in left field

Tommy Manzella SS – 0-3, 2 RBI, BB – .250 AVG

Corpus Christi lost to Midland 3-0

Dallas Keuchel – 8 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 5 SO, 3.61 ERA – Pitched a very good game, but the offense couldn’t give him any support.

Erick Abreu – 1 IP, 1 H, 2 SO, 2.89 ERA

Jake Goebbert LF – 2-3, 2B, .309 AVG – No other offense to report on.

Lancaster lost to Lake Elsinore 16-4

Robert Doran – 1.2 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, BB, SO, 9.69 ERA – If your name isn’t Jake Buchanan or Jose Cisnero then you haven’t pitched good in Lancaster this year

Mike Ness – 1.2 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, SO, 7.25 ERA

Yordany Ramirez – 1 IP, 2 SO, 6.23 ERA – Former outfielder turned pitcher. Hard thrower, but the results haven’t been there yet

Johnathan Villar SS – 1-4, SO, .262 AVG – Also committed his 12th error of the year in the filed

Jose Altuve 2B – 2-5, 2 RBI, SO, .392 AVG – 2 hits again tonight for this guy. He can really hit for average

Kody Hinze 1B – 2-3, HR, 2 RBI, BB, SO, .297 AVG – This is our power bat in the system. 13 homers on the season

Jordan Comadena LF – 2-4, 2B, 2 SO, .342 AVG
