Blasting Off: Offensive Woes

On this edition of Blasting Off Andy and Ray discuss the offensive woes of the Astros in the last week, and recap what they have seen in the first half of the 2013 season.

The Astros have hit hard times as they only managed five runs in the Angels series and then got shut out yesterday. With the halfway point of the season passing us, Andy and Ray rate the good, the bad, and the ugly of the 2013 campaign so far.

Some of the other highlights include:

-Who will be the Astros All Star?

-Why can’t the Astros make positive adjustments at the plate?

-Lucas Harrell has been really good or really bad, what is the difference from start to start?

Listen to all of this and more on the player below, fellow Hill Climbers! Stay tuned for our new episode next week, and feel free to tweet us questions or comments at @astrosCTH.

I listed Harrell as a disappointment even though he has had several good starts. I expected that. It is the bad starts that have stuck with me. You talked about things snowballing on him. That’s something that I think is a product of his immaturity. He seems to let it get to him when things don’t go his way. Good pitchers are the ones that bear down when the going gets tough. I’m disappointed because Harrell hasn’t shown he can do that.

Harrell is such an interesting pitcher. I think his high energy sometimes make him lose focus on the hill, it’s up to him to figure out how to channel it to his advantage.
