Where will Bregman bat today?
Now that we were fairly certain that Bregman will be the third baseman tomorrow, we went back and forth on where he would bat? Brandon was all Bregman hitting second last week on Talking Stros but changed his mind this week, said he should hit sixth. McTaggart agreed, stating that is how the Astros have operated with their recent call-ups of Carlos Correa, A.J. Reed, and Tyler White. Let him get comfortable, then move him up to the second slot.

I think that Bregman should instantly bat second because it would make the Astros top four hitters would be one of the most dynamic quartets in the game. This offense already scored 22 runs in the three-game series with the Angels without Bregman. Jeremy Booth of Program 15 sided with me, stating that you want to give him the most protection. Slot him in between Springer and Altuve, he will see a lot to hit.
He will either bat second or sixth, we don’t have a definite answer at the moment. I normally don’t pay too much attention to the lineup card until game time, but I am eager to see it tomorrow before the game.
The good thing about Bregman joining this team is that he doesn’t need to be the savior, he just needs to be another piece to hopefully a championship team. Everyone who came on the show last night felt that Bregman is different than your typical prospect, he has excelled at every level. His power was not something that the Astros expected, Booth said that anyone who claims to have predicted this power is lying. He was supposed to be like an Altuve-like hitter early in his career, someone who could spray the ball all over.

There have been some Dustin Pedroia comparisons out there, but if you ask Bregman, he would tell you that he tries to be the best Bregman he can be. When he arrived in Houston, he got together with Lance McCullers and Correa for a game of pool. Somehow, I don’t think Bregman will ruin this team’s chemistry. I am so thankful for the Brady Aiken debacle now, otherwise, Bregman would not have been an Astro.
