]]> Lefty reliever Wesley Wright is the subject of our final installment in the player profile series. Wright turns 27 later this week and will be entering his fifth season with the Astros. Wright was selected from the Dodgers’ organization by Houston in the Rule 5 Draft prior to the 2008 season. Although his numbers were nothing special, Wright was kept on the big league roster for the entire season but has seen some action at the AAA level in each of the last three seasons.

]]> The Ball has dropped in Times Square. Most of the 270 college Bowl games are over. So let’s get back to some baseball news.

Recently there’s been a lot of talk about the Hall of Fame Class of 2012. The official announcement is still a week away, but the Baseball Bloggers Alliance released their recommendations today. Climbing Tal’s Hill is a member of the of the BBA and my vote was included in the count. But I’m not quite ready to unveil my ballot. I’m saving that for the FanSided HOF voting post. Stay tuned for that later this week.
