]]> What’s new with the Astros? Bullpen workhorse Wilton Lopez is the latest Astro to be put on the 15 day disabled list. Lopez is suffering from what the team is calling a sprained right elbow. Lopez has a 3-0 record and a 3.28 ERA in 32 relief appearances for the year. He has been arguably the most dependable arm out of Brad Mills’ bullpen this season. For that reason, Lopez has been worked harder than most Astros fans would have preferred. Mills has repeatedly called on Lopez in key situations and the workload has finally caught up with him. Fernando Abad was re-instated from the disabled list to fill the open roster spot.

]]> The Astros took care of business Saturday night with a 6-5 win over the Texas Rangers in front of a sellout crowd at Minute Maid Park. A regional television audience also got a chance to see the young Astros down the defending A.L. champs thanks to the Fox Network. Astros starter Lucas Harrell picked up the win even though things didn’t look good for him early.
