Either way, Sunday’s series finale between the Astros and Mets was a well-played contest that took on a brisk pace, right up until the ninth inning. Lucas Harrell threw seven innings for Houston, allowing only two hits and two walks while fanning seven.

]]> Just when we were starting to wonder if the Astros would ever get a win for interim manager Tony DeFrancesco, along came the Mets. Amazingly enough, the Mets have been just as bad as the Astros over the last three weeks. Houston handed the Mets their sixth straight loss Friday night, giving both teams a record of 5-14 since August 3rd.

]]> While Roger Clemens starts in Sugar Land Saturday the Astros will call up Fernando Abad to start against the Mets in New York. The Skeeters game is getting plenty of hype and will be broadcast nationally by ESPN Classic. The Astros vs. Mets game will probably play to a smaller TV audience even though the 12:10 EDT start time doesn’t clash with the Giants, Jets, or Texans. Most fans are just tired of watching these two teams lose.
