]]> “It’s A Whole New Ballgame”. Sure it may not seem that way, but that’s the Astros slogan this year. Replacing the “Root Root Root” from last year, “It’s A Whole New Ballgame” can be seen in several places at Minute Maid Park. The Astros went with a whole new change to Minute Maid Park during the offseason. Of course the train and hill still exist (and we kind of need the hill to exist to so we can keep the website name), but a lot has changed since 2012. I had the chance to attend the Astros game this past week, and here are some of the new looks at MMP (pictures included).

]]> Tal’s Hill, Minute Maid Park’s ninety-foot wide obstacle that terrorizes outfielders and inspired the naming of our website, could be going away. For quite some time now, the new ownership group headed by Jim Crane has been toying with the idea of leveling the hill. At Thursday night’s “Black Ties and Baseball Caps Gala” Crane hinted that one of the park’s original features probably won’t be around when the Astros move to the A.L. West next season.

]]> Earlier tonight, several sources reported that Wandy Rodriguez was close to becoming a Pittsburgh Pirate. Moments ago, it became official. The Astros traded the last remaining player from their 2005 World Series team to the Pirates. Rodriguez is 7-9 with a 3.79 ERA in 21 starts this year for the Astros. Ironically enough, his next start should come at Minute Maid Park this weekend vs. the Astros.
