]]> Even when the Astros win a game, they can’t do it without bad news. In a 2-1 game in the third inning with the bases loaded, Maxwell was hit by a pitch from Hisashi Iwakuma. Maxwell went on to play another half inning until he realized he broke his hand. After the game, the Astros placed him on the DL and called up Robbie Grossman.

]]> It’s hard to come up with a silver lining in the dark cloud that was the Astros first homestand of 2013. The newest members of the American League got out of the gate quickly with a big win over the rival Rangers on Opening Night. But the Astros fell to earth like a rock in game number two as Yu Darvish came within one out of a perfect game against the hometown nine. Since then, the ‘Stros bats have yet to fully recover.
