Pirate’s starter James McDonald had an excellent outing and was deserving of a better fate. McDonald allowed only four hits and two walks while striking out eight in eight innings pitched. Run support has been an issue for McDonald, who dropped to 2-2 for the year despite a 2.42 ERA.
