]]> With the draft less than a month away the Astros front office is busy scouting and evaluating amateur talent from just about everywhere. Last year the Astros made Carlos Correa the first player out of Puerto Rico to ever be selected with the first overall pick in the draft. This year the Astros are picking first again and, according to reports, have narrowed it down to seven or eight players.

Astros Complete Trade with Blue Jays - Climbing Tal's Hill - Climbing Tal's Hill - A Houston Astros Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

]]> In a trade that was agreed upon back on July 20, the Astros have officially received SP Kevin Comer as the player to be named later in the trade with the Toronto Blue Jays, officially completing the mega deal. Comer completes the ten player deal which sent J.A. Happ, Brandon Lyon and David Carpenter to Toronto for Francisco Cordero, Ben Francisco and minor leaguers Joe Musgrove, Asher Wojciechowski, David Rollins  and Carlos Perez. Comer has reported to Greeneville to finish out the season.

]]> As the calendar turns to August the Astros now have only two months remaining as a member of the National League. As we do every month during the season, it’s time to take a look at the state of the Astros. Where the team is now and where they are headed are two completely different stories. The Astros are coming off the worst month in franchise history with a 3-24 July record. The good news is: Jeff Luhnow has traded away all of the overpaid veterans for a busload of hungry youngsters with tons of potential.
