Astros looking for revenge against D-Backs

When the Astros traveled to Arizona last month for a three-game series against the Diamondbacks things didn’t turn out so well. The D-Backs barely broke a sweat while sweeping the Astros by a collective score of 33-13. Since that time the Astros struggles have continued and the Diamondbacks are still trying to get back into the race for a wildcard spot. Chris Johnson was traded to the D-Backs and returns to familiar surroundings tonight albeit in a different uniform.

Astros are bad, Mills is worse

For a while today it looked like the Astros might actually win a game. Arizona starter Josh Collmenter was basically throwing batting practice and the light-hitting Astros were getting a few good swings against him. Houston took a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth with back-to-back doubles by Scott Moore and Chris Johnson to start the inning.

Kubel KO’s Keuchel

Astros lefty Dallas Keuchel was unable to cool off a red-hot Diamondbacks offense tonight in Arizona. Jason Kubel hit a two-run homer in the first inning and sent Keuchel to the showers in the fourth inning with a three-run blast. Fernando Rodriguez replaced Keuchel with the Astros trailing 7-1.
