Astros acquire Tyler Greene

The Astros picked up middle infielder Tyler Greene from the Cardinals today in exchange for a player to be named later. Surprise, surprise! Jeff Luhnow has obtained yet another former Cardinal. Luhnow originally drafted Greene in the first round back in 2005 and Tyler has failed to live up to the expectations of a first round pick. The Astros hope a change of scenery will do the trick.

Astros outlast Cardinals 9-8

The Astros scored early and often tonight against Jaime Garcia and the St. Louis Cardinals and held on for a 9-8 win. After Astros starter Lucas Harrell gave up an unearned run in the top of the first, Jose Altuve and company were quick to provide some offensive support. Altuve led off with a double down the leftfield line and scored when J.D. Martinez stroked a two-out single up the middle. After a couple of walks and a wild pitch, Chris Snyder plated a pair of runs with a single to left and the Astros took a 4-1 lead.
