@astrosince1975 Given the salaries of the elite closers, I think Myers could be seen as an option for most clubs. It might just depend on who is in worse shape come July or even sooner. Given his history in Philly, I’d think no way is afraid of the big market jinx.

Closers have been dropping like flies this season and that should definitely make Myers a more attractive commodity. Unfortunately, his salary is that of a starting pitcher and is way above that of even an elite closer. If a team is desperate to make the playoffs I would like to think that the salary wouldn’t be an issue. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
I am as surprised as anyone that Myers has been so good. When Brett was moved to closer I had my doubts.

I don’t understand the ‘C’ grade for the front office/field manager. What Luhnow has done to make this team competitive has been nothing short of amazing. Other than the 6-0 loss to the Reds on Saturday the Astros have had a chance to win every other game they have played. The emphasis on players with high OBP is such a refreshing change from our prior GM. Even if you have disagreed with some of the moves Mills has made I would give Luhnow and ‘A’ and Mills a ‘C’ with an overall grade of a ‘B’ here.
