Houston Astros second-baseman Jose Altuve left tonight’s game in the sixth inning with “neck discomfort”.
Update: Jose Altuve left tonight’s game due to neck discomfort. #Astros

Altuve, who came into the game ranked second in the American League in hitting, went 0 for 3 against Texas Rangers right-hander Miles Mikolas. Altuve popped out in the fifth inning and was replaced by Gregorio Petit in the top of the sixth.
With three outfielders already on the disabled list, the Astros can ill-afford to lose their leadoff hitter for any significant amount of time. Hopefully Altuve will be back soon. George Springer could be activated as early as tomorrow, but his status, like Altuve’s, is still up in the air.
