Last night the Astros organization promoted the power-hitter Preston Tucker to AAA Oklahoma City. The club announced the corresponding roster move today as Adron Chambers was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for two low-level minor league prospects.

Brian McTaggart tweeted:

Chambers signed with the Astros last offseason after playing parts of three seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals, the team that drafted him. He was invited to Spring Training as non-roster invitee. Eventually he was sent to AAA for the 2014 campaign.

This season Chambers was hitting .281/.356/.416 for the Redhawks in 102 plate appearances.

Coming to Houston in the trade is LHP Alejandro Solarte and an infielder Will Dupont. Both had played for the Blue Jays affiliate in the Gulf Coast League last season. The pair will report to extended spring training in Kissimmee, also per Brian McTaggart’s tweets.

Solarte is just under 20 years old and compiled a 4-1 record with a 2.18 ERA in two seasons in the Blue Jays system. He has yet to allow a home run in 53 2/3 innings while posting a BB/9 rate of 1.8.

Dupont hit for a .262 batting average in 61 at-bats for the Blue Jays GCL team. He was a 16th rounder from the 2012 draft. Will was selected from the high school ranks and the 2014 season is his age-20 season.
