Scott Feldman placed on disabled list

The Astros have announced that RHP Scott Feldman has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with biceps tendinitis.Collin McHugh will be called up to take Feldman’s turn in the rotation tomorrow.

One of the Astros only bright spots so far this season, Feldman has been the ace of Houston’s staff since his Opening Day win over the Yankees. Feldman went 2-1 with a 1.69 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in his first four starts as an Astro. Obviously, he wasn’t going to pitch that great all year, but his absence from the rotation will certainly be felt.

The team is downplaying the severity of Feldman’s injury. Jeff Luhnow told Brian McTaggart:

"It’s nothing too concerning. We debated putting him on the disabled list, but considering he’s going to miss a start [Tuesday], we kind of want to be cautious with any discomfort. We’re going to skip his next start [following Tuesday] as well, and given we have two days off next week, it made more sense to put him on the DL."

Feldman said:

"My arm felt fine. After the last game, it just never recovered like it had been."

Let’s hope Feldman is back soon. We all know he is needed.
