Blasting Off: Hot Winter Meetings

Andy Pondillo and Ray Kuhn are joined by Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle on this edition of “Blasting Off”. The trio discuss what we should expect from the Astros during the remainder of the Winter Meetings.

The Winter Meetings are now into full swing, and the rumors are flying! It has been years since the Astros have been linked to so much activity. To help us out Evan Drellich, Astros beat writer for the Houston Chronicle joins the program from Orlando. Andy and Ray also discuss further possibilities within the Winter Meetings. Are the rumored free agent candidates of Michael Morse, Corey Hart, and Grady Sizemore, legitimate? How many more arms will the Astros look to add in the pen?

Listen to all of this and more on the player below, fellow Hill Climbers! Stay tuned for our new episode next week, and feel free to tweet us questions or comments at @astrosCTH.

Seattle got a bargain on Hart at $6 million for 1 year. Morse is reportedly asking for $7 to $8 million and Porter may be pushing hard to get him.

Evan is a great writer and guest! I can’t wait to have him back sometime soon. Hart for 6 mil is a huge deal, I wonder if the Stros gave him a similar offer?
