According to new Astros beat writer Evan Drellich, Jim Crane has been in contact with Nolan Ryan. The All-Time Strikeout King and former Astro resigned his post as the CEO of the Texas Rangers on Halloween to spend more time with his family. Crane has yet to offer Nolan a job but says “that certainly could be a possibility down the road”.
I’m not sure where Ryan would fit in the Astros organization, or even if he has the desire. I would assume that he would take on a considerably smaller role with the Astros, perhaps similar to that of former players like Larry Dierker and Jimmy Wynn.

How is Jonathan Singleton’s winter going? Much better than last winter — thank you very much.
In Puerto Rico, 1B Jon Singleton is hitting .314 (11-for-35) with 2 homers, 3 doubles, .467 OBP. He has 10 walks, 10 strikeouts. #Astros.
