The All-Star Futures Game will be played on Sunday July 14th at Citi Field, and this year the fans get to vote for the player who will fill the final roster spot on each team.

Astros prospect and first overall draft pick from 2012, Carlos Correa, is on the final ballot. Astros fans can vote for Correa to join the World Team by using this link.

If Correa is selected, he will be going up against a United States Team that features a pair of Astros prospects. Both George Springer and Delino DeShields Jr. have been selected to play for the U.S. squad.

Springer has had a tremendous season at AA Corpus Christi and it was recently announced that he is being promoted to AAA Oklahoma City. But there was one last piece of business for Springer to take care of in AA. Last night Springer played in the Texas League All-Star Game — and the Astros prospect stole the show. Springer clubbed a pair of homeruns, helping the South to a 6-0 win and earning game MVP honors. Now it’s on to AAA for the 23-year old outfielder.

DeShields, who is still only 20 years old, is currently hitting .288/.377/.407 at High-A Lancaster. Last season DeShields stole 101 bases in 120 attempts. This season hasn’t gone quite as well thus far, but the Astros still consider the son of a former big leaguer by the same name an outstanding prospect.

The Futures Game will be aired on ESPN2, so be sure to vote for Correa and perhaps we will get an opportunity to see the youngster in action.
