Today the Astros announced Spring Training report dates, game start times, and a pair of additional exhibition games slated for Minute Maid Park. The Astros will close out their exhibition schedule against a familiar opponent on March 29th and 30th.

The Chicago Cubs will make the trip to Houston for a Friday night game and a Saturday afternoon contest to wrap up the 2013 pre-season. Our old friend Jim Deshaies will be back in town and if we’re lucky we might get to see the games on TV.

The Astros also announced the mandatory report date for pitchers and catchers will be Monday, February 11. Position players will be required to report no later than Friday, February 15.

The Astros will open their 2013 exhibition season on Saturday, February 23 against the Phillies in Clearwater. The home opener will be played on Sunday February 24 when the Astros host the New York Mets at Osceola County Stadium. Both games are scheduled for 12:05 Eastern.

The American League fun begins on Tuesday, April 4 when the Astros host the Texas Rangers at Minute Maid Park.
