The wait is essentially over. The Astros will play their first Spring Training game Saturday against the Washington Nationals in Kisimme. Livan Hernandez will get the start against the team he pitched for last season. The rest of the Astros starting lineup will include Brett Wallace 1B, Jose Altuve 2B, Chris Johnson 3B, Jed Lowrie SS, Jason Castro C, J.B. Shuck LF, Jason Bourgeois CF, Travis Buck RF, and Jack Custat designated hitter.

Edwin Jackson gets the start for s Nationals and 19 year-old phenom Bryce Harper will be in RF. Davey Johnson has penciled in former Astro Jason Michaels at DH for Saturday’s contest. Former Rice University standout Anthony Rendon is also in camp with the Nats but will not be in the starting lineup. Rendon got the start at 3B in today’s exhibition game against Georgetown, which the Nationals won 3-0.

Brett Myers will pitch an inning out of the Houston bullpen as Brad Mills eases the big right-hander into his new role with the team. The home-and-home series with the Nats continues Sunday and J.A. Happ gets the start for Houston. Sunday’s game starts at noon CST and will broadcast on MLB Network starting at 3:00 p.m. Even though it won’t be a live broadcast I’ll still be watching to see how the Astros look.
