Weekender Links

Outside of the ongoing saga regarding Jim Crane’s bid to buy the Astros, stories about the team occur a little less frequently this time of year. But for those of us who can never get enough coverage of our cellar dwellers, I’ve uncovered a few articles and provided the links below. A couple of the links focus on future big leaguers  and one waxes nostalgic about a better time. None of them provide any new rumors about the sale.

Just wondered if there were plans for a protest by Astro fans during the winter meetings since they’re conveniently in Dallas this year? It would be hard for the commish to justify the move to the AL west in any way except “I can kill the sale and twist the current and future owners arms until they agree. Other than that it obviously makes now sense.”

I’d go join the protest and I’m not an Astro die hard. It would seem perhaps that intervention of the Biggio and Bagwells of the world could raise a fair amount of bad press for Dud..pardon me Bud. We all know how he likes bad press. Just sayin…

I think you are on to something here Fred. I wasn’t aware that the winter meetings were in Dallas. Isn’t that conveeeeeeeeeeeeeenient! You have inspired me to get the ball rolling. You are a genius! Look for updates here soon. We can make this happen. Thanks. GT

@astrosince1975 Not sure genius is the word most would use but I’m glad it was worth the post, The CBA is likely to include 15 team league for no good reason but the team to move probably won’t be chosen by then. Good luck and keep me in the loop
