It turns out the so-called experts were right. This 2011 Astros team is a real dog. The Astros were shut out today by Cincinnati’s Bronson Arroyo for loss number 102 of the year. Yes, the same Bronson Arroyo that has allowed a league high 44 homeruns this season. That’s even more than Brett Myers.
Wandy Rodriguez had another nice outing but dropped to 11-11 with the loss. Rodriguez pitched seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks. Wandy struck out four, including his 1,000th career strikeout. It was the final road game of the year for Houston. The Astros wound up going 25-56 away from home. Only seven games remain, four against the Rockies and three against Lance Berkman and the Cardinals.
