Astros make another trade; send Bourn to the Braves

In the past 48 hours the Astros have traded away two of their three starting outfielders, this time sending Michael Bourn to the Braves for Jordan Schafer and three minor league prospects. The Astros finally acquired a player who is major league ready but they could not pry away one of their top four pitching prospects.

The Astros finally were able to achieve what Ed Wade wanted to by acquiring three more pitching prospects. They will receive right handers Juan Abreu and Paul Clemens and lefty Brett Oberholtzer, who was ranked ninth in the Braves farm system by Baseball America. I will be breaking down the prospects a little later but unforunately my initial reaction is the Astros got the best deal possible.

So who is next to go? Wandy Rodriguez has drawn some interest, specifically from the New York Yankees, according to Ken Rosenthal. I would also not be surprised if Brett Myers and Clint Barmes drew some interest before this afternoon’s deadline.
