Third team possibly needed for Pence to Phillies

Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman both tweeted (here and here) that the Astros are not fans of the Phillies prospects (which may be a first by Wade) but this has not slowed down the Phillies. They are now talking to other teams about Dominic Brown and in hopes of bringing back prospects that the Astros like.

The hold up in trade negotiations seems to be the Astros want pitching prospects and like the Braves prospects more. I am sure the Astros would ask for some of the Braves top pitching prospects, like Matt Minor. However Sherman tweeted that the Braves are very hesitant to trade their pitching prospects, which will probably cost them Pence.

Personally, I think it is a bad move by the Astros not to get Brown because as I said earlier, they really need to get a major league ready prospect who can step in right away for fans to rally around. I also find it hard to believe that the Phillies stood strong in not offering Brown for the likes of Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee but are willing to give him up for Hunter Pence. He is a good player but not nearly on the same level as Halladay or Lee.

Stay tuned fans, information is going to start coming fast and furious over the next day or so.
