I agree that most of these trades are still to recent and haven't had enough time to work themselves out. The only trade on this list that pretty much worked itself out was the Santana trade because only 1 player is still in their system that directly involved that trade, and 3 players indirectly are still with the Twins because of the trade.

The Colon trade or the Beckett trade would have been good ones to include and breakdown. Maybe I will make an edit later and update it with those two trades.

The economics of baseball dictate that a handful of clubs control type A free agents. They take these players without offering any players compensation. Type A free agents are worth less than minor leaguers at the A level to teams like the Cleveland Indians, who do not bid on them.

At the point in time of the trade CC was a rental, whose value to Cleveland was diminishing with eaach passing day and would expire in three months. When you compare three months of CC vs. to two players who are currently starting, the trade has a huge upside for Cleveland.

Carrasco has the potential to eclipse Lee as a starter. Lee is past his prime. He may have 5 years left. If Carrasco realizes his potential, we will be around for 10-15, 5 of which will belong to Cleveland. Jason Donald is projected as a starter in 2011 and Jason Knapp could have an even larger impact than Carrasco.

You may want to look at the Bartolo Colon trade to see how these kind of trades can play themselves out.
