Happ could make Houston forget Oswalt

FSHouston’s Tim Povtak has a good write up on young pitcher J.A. Happ. I hated to see Oswalt traded away last season but Happ is doing everything right to lessen the sting. Only time will tell.

Astros’ Norris trying to put it together

Bud Norris will decide what type of pitching rotation the Astros have this year. Now they won’t be the Super Staff of the Phillies but if Norris can put it together, like the article says, the Astros could have a pretty scary staff.

NL Central preseason All-Star team

David Schoenfield over at ESPN posted his NL Central All-Star team. Magic Wandy was the lone Astro who made the team, however I think Chris Johnson should have gotten the nod over Pedro Alvarez.

    So pumped to see how Bud pans out this year. Watched his interview on the Astros’ site and his excitement is contagious. He’s our X-factor…if he can put it together we’re going to have a beast pitching staff.

      I agree. As far as the pitching staff is concerned I think that Norris and Happ are the two most important pitchers in the rotation. We know what we are getting with Myers and Wandy but if Happ and Norris put it all together then the rotation could be better than last year.
