Tomorrow I will release the first installment of my2010 prospects year-in-review. Tonight, I’m providing an organizational overview of the Astros system as a primer and resource for any league, team, or level references I will make. Please come back tomorrow and the following days as I look at the top 40 or so prospects in the Houston Astros organization.
Foreign Rookies will start at the Dominican Summer League with the DSL Astros.
Houston’s Rookie-A affiliate is the GCL Astros of the Gulf Coast League and the Greeneville Astros of the APPY, or Appalachian league.
Short-Season A: Tri-City Valley Cats of the New York Penn League
Single-A: Lexington Legends of the South-Atlantic League
High-A: Lancaster Jethawks of the California League
Double-A: Corpus Christi Hooks of the Texas League
Triple-A: Oklahoma City Red Hawks of the PCL (Formerly Round Rock Express)
